THE CLIENT
My Client is one of the leading Developers in the United Arab Emirates.
They are responsible for changing the face of Dubai with distinctive and Iconic residential, retail and commercial urban developments.
Due to several new and ongoing projects they are currently looking for a world class Senior Urban Planner to join them as Director of Design & Planning
THE ROLE
To lead and manage the Design and Planning Division with the core objective of delivering and ensuring excellence and consistency in the design and development of projects
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Proven track record in strategy development and execution
• Demonstration of superior leadership skills; Capacity to influence thinking and behaviour of decision-makers and stakeholders; Superior management skills to lead and manage a multi-ethnic, multilingual, professionally diverse talent teams
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Expansive capacity to develop new projects and put forth new ideas including new projects, land uses, architectural and urban design concepts
• Extensive ability in analytic thinking, tools, and techniques across several fields
• A mastery of extensive and wide ranging urban planning knowledge, tools, and analytical skills including urban design, environmental planning, ecological design, transportation planning, project development, real estate, design and development control guidelines, infrastructure, community and neighbourhood development, and regional planning.
• Knowledge and experience in architectural design and architectural design guidelines, as well as architectural programming
• Extensive knowledge of the potential of GIS systems and applications
• Knowledge and experience in financial analysis of projects; developing financial models and proposals
JOB DIMENSIONS
Leads and manages Design and Planning Division staff, made up of highly skilled design, planning, and engineering professionals and administrative/support staff.
Oversees and approve master plans of communities valued at billions (AED);
Dives revenue-generating strategy
Drives cost saving and cost effectiveness design initiatives representing cost savings

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning and a Bachelors Degree in Architecture from world class universities
15 years experience in design and development, urban planning and management (including land use planning, urban design, transportation planning, and community development), real estate and property development, competitiveness strategy development
