The Public Parks and Horticulture Department of Dubai Municipality has planted a new species of decorative palm trees brought from Seychelles, Africa four years ago. The trees, which belong to the Palmae family of palms, are called Tarnakis palms. Ahmed AbdulKarim, Director of Public Parks and Horticulture Department said all the plants in these species are resistant to cold and dry climate and they can grow in limy soil and some of them are can also withstand salt also.
