The Al Habtoor Leighton Group has been awarded an AED 1.2 billion contract for the design and construction of the new Paris Sorbonne University campus at Al Reem Island in Abu Dhabi for Mubadala Development Company.
The project will be undertaken by the Group’s Al Habtoor Engineering Abu Dhabi division in joint venture with Murray and Roberts. The project involves the design and construction of a 93,000 square metres educational facility on a greenfield site to be completed in two distinct phases, allowing opening and operational usage of the establishment (one lecture wing and associated facilities) within 16 months, with the remainder following 12 months later.
Stage One will be completed in August next year, and Stage Two in August 2010.
